The Building and the Facilities

Built to high specification, Chelston Gardens provides a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere. The emphasis is on light and large windows frame beautiful views over the Blackdown Hills. While built to meet the nursing needs of those living with dementia, Chelston Gardens is a warm home for our fifty residents.

At Chelston, our residents are never short of places to sit. As well as the privacy of their own rooms, the house boasts four sitting and dining rooms – one in each of the wings. There are alcoves with seating areas throughout and on each floor there is a sensory room designed to relax people with dementia.

    The Bedrooms

    Chelston Gardens offers large and well-proportioned rooms with good-sized, ensuite, walk-in shower rooms. Individually adjustable under-floor heating provides an even temperature throughout.

    Bedrooms are light and airy with large windows. We supply free-standing furniture and residents personalise their rooms with thier own furniture, pictures and ornaments.

    Each room has a wall-mounted TV. Residents can choose between terrestrial, freeview or Netflix. The activities team and carers help residents to select their favourite music, terrestrial TV channel or ambient ‘slow TV’ on YouTube.

    Rooms are equipped with the latest electric-profiling nurisng beds and a full nurse-call system. Optional sensors can be used to provide additional security.

     

      Bedrooms have large picture windows with views of the garden and the countryside around.

      Smart TVs in communal areas play slow TV or stream on-demand films and we have tablets for communication and other activities.

      We have a strong WiFi signal throughout the building.
